From REALISM TODAY:
"Shane Wolf, founder of The Figure Society, is one of the rare masters of figurative art who upholds the tradition of working uniquely from life as long as it takes to create his works (no photographic references are ever used).
He says the lively exchanges between the models and the artist are essential to his art, allowing him to constantly evolve and invent new ways of exploring the power and beauty of the human form, and always Nude."

Learn to sculpt the figure from a figure model, with expert instruction from Lois Rhomberg. We will work in plasticine clay over an 18-inch armature.

Students will be instructed in the basics of figure drawing, starting from the block-in stage all the way to finishing touches. We will be working on paper at 11 x 14 inches; go to "Learn More" for materials list.

Learn to sculpt a life-size portrait bust from a model in oil-based clay with instructor Armando Gutiérrez G. The class will emphasize anatomy and proportion, as well as creating a life-like piece with character.
Armando will lead students in creating a silicone and plaster mold of the student's existing sculpture. The class will take place over two weekends:

Spend 10 weeks creating one or more clay figure studies from a live model in a supportive environment. We suggest that new sculptors take either Figure Sculpture or the Plaster Cast Sculpture Study class first.

Learn about the process of slip casting for ceramics, and create a simple slip-cast mold. No previous experience necessary!

Learn hand-building techniques and create some original work for Studio Pintura's Fall Raku Firing event. No previous experience necessary!

Deep-dive into observation, measurements, and sculpture skills by copying an existing Plaster Sculpture in earth or plasticene clay.
